Beginning and Intermediate Clay

Class #8C6: 10 week session

Wednesdays Sept 10-Nov 12 6-9 pm

Students will learn basic wheel throwing techniques in this 10-week class. Students will focus on throwing cylinders, bowls, and other shapes. Students will work with high fire stoneware clay. The final 2 class sessions will focus on basic glazing techniques for reduction kiln firing. Cost for this class is $195 per student. Cost of clay and glazes is included in fee. Students must provide their own tools. Union Project sells ceramic tool kits for $15. Students must be 16 years of age or older to enroll alone in Union Project Ceramics classes. Students under the age of 16 may enroll if a parent or guardian also enrolls in the class with them.

Ceramic Decals w/ slab & wheel thrown ceramics NEW CLASS***

This class is only for STUDENTS WITH PREVIOUS CLAY EXPERIENCE. Students will learn several different methods of decal transfer and surface decoration techniques. Specific instruction will focus on creating personal laser decal transfers. Students will learn the basics of preparing an image in Photoshop, important resources for producing your own custom decals, and will learn how to apply decals to ceramics in all stages of the making process. Cost of the class includes 10 sheets of decal paper/laser printing and 10 commercial decals, as well as clay and glazes. Students may want to bring their own decals in addition to what is provided.

Students will learn basic sculpture and slab building techniques in this 10-week class. Students may also incorporate wheel thrown techniques into this class. Students will work with high fire stoneware clay. The final 2 class sessions will focus on basic glazing techniques for reduction kiln firing. Cost for this class is $195 per student. Refund Policy
Union Project will give you a full refund if you choose to withdraw from a class before the registration deadline. If you choose to withdraw from a class after the registration deadline but before the beginning of the first class you will be given a refund minus a $25 processing fee. If you choose to withdraw from the class after the beginning of the first class session no refund will be given.

Union Project Ceramics at Three Rivers Arts Festival

Come check out Union Project ceramics at our booth at the Three Rivers Arts Festival.  We will have a booth for all three weeks of the festival in Gallery Row and will be doing demonstrations on June 6 and June 7.
